How We Can Help

Cardiac Screening
Ultrasounds

The team perform comprehensive cardiac screens tailored to the individual. These include a comprehensive range of investigations including heart traces ('electrocardiograms' or 'ECGs'), heart ultrasound scans ('echocardiograms'), exercise treadmill tests, heart monitoring and advanced imaging techniques (e.g. heart MRI scans and exercise stress echocardiograms). All results are reviewed by consultant cardiologists with expertise in the relevant field. Whilst we are based in Bristol & Bath we also offer a mobile screening service for clubs.

Sports Cardiology
Group of Road Bikers

We provide expert cardiac sports advice, screening and assessment of symptoms to those of all abilities. We work with professional-club and international athletes and also help to advise those with underlying cardiac conditions (e.g. after a heart attack or those with heart failure) to improve their exercise capacity and provide tailored exercise prescription.

Dan and Ed are the first cardiologists in the UK to have achieved a Masters in Sports Cardiology. Dan was one of the authors of the National guidelines on the screening of sports participants, published in 2018. This was a joint position paper from the British Society of Echocardiography and the charity Cardiac Risk In The Young.
